Bamboo (British band)

Bamboo was a British indie rock band formed in Birmingham, England in 1999. The band consisted of Rob Thomas (vocals, guitar), Dan Nichols (guitar), Iain Archer (bass), and Joe Skeaping (drums).

Bamboo released two studio albums: Release It (2001) and On The Floor (2003). They garnered some popularity in the UK indie scene, touring extensively and receiving airplay on BBC Radio 1. Their music was characterized by melodic guitar riffs, introspective lyrics, and a generally upbeat tempo.

Following the release of On The Floor, the band members pursued other musical projects, leading to Bamboo's disbandment in the mid-2000s. Iain Archer later achieved greater success as a songwriter, co-writing several songs with artists such as Snow Patrol and Liam Fray of The Courteeners. Rob Thomas has continued to perform and record music independently. While Bamboo didn't achieve mainstream success, they remain a notable band from the early 2000s UK indie scene.
