Colentina (river)

The Colentina is a river in Romania, a left tributary of the Argeș River. It flows through the city of Bucharest and forms a chain of lakes along its course within the city limits. These lakes, including Lake Floreasca, Lake Tei, and Lake Herăstrău, are popular recreational areas. The river's source is near the town of Târgoviște, Dâmbovița County. Its total length is approximately 101 kilometers (63 miles). The Colentina historically played a significant role in supplying water to Bucharest and its surrounding areas.
