Different Stages (Rush album)

Different Stages is a triple live album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1998. It documents performances from the band's 1996-1997 Test for Echo tour and includes a bonus disc featuring a complete performance of Rush's 1975 album All the World's a Stage from a show in London, England in 1997.

The album's title is derived from a line in William Shakespeare's As You Like It monologue "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players." This is a direct reference to the title of Rush's first live album, All the World's a Stage.

Different Stages features a mix of classic Rush tracks and newer material from the Test for Echo album. The first two discs contain performances from various North American cities during the Test for Echo tour. The third disc, All the World's a Stage, presents a complete, uninterrupted performance of that album, showcasing the band's early progressive rock sound.

The album was well-received by fans and critics, praising the band's musicianship and the inclusion of the complete All the World's a Stage performance. It is considered a comprehensive representation of Rush's live performance capabilities across different eras of their career. The release was available in both a standard three-CD set and a limited-edition package containing the same audio content but in a more elaborate box with additional artwork and memorabilia.
