Hellion (film)
Hellion is a 2014 American drama film written and directed by Kat Candler. The film stars Aaron Paul, Juliette Lewis, Josh Wiggins, Deke Garner, and Jonny Mars. It premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.
Synopsis
The film tells the story of a dysfunctional family living in rural Southeast Texas. Hollis Wilson (Aaron Paul) is a widowed father struggling to raise his two sons, Jacob (Josh Wiggins) and Wes (Deke Garner). Jacob, the elder son, is a rebellious teenager involved in petty crimes and destructive behavior, often fueled by grief and a lack of parental guidance. His actions lead to the younger Wes being placed in foster care. Hollis must confront his own grief and shortcomings to try and win back custody of Wes and keep his family together. The film explores themes of family, grief, loss, and redemption against the backdrop of a small, close-knit community.
