Ringerike (municipality)
Ringerike is a municipality in Viken county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Buskerud. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Hønefoss.
Ringerike is bordered to the north by Gran and Søndre Land, to the east by Lunner and Jevnaker, to the south by Hole and Krødsherad, and to the west by Ådal.
The municipality is known for its scenic landscape, including the Randsfjorden lake, the Krokskogen forest, and the Hallingskarvet mountain range. Historically, Ringerike has significant Viking Age connections, with ties to kings and sagas. Notable historical sites include the Stein farm.
