Chris Houston (musician)

Chris Houston is a Canadian musician, primarily known as a guitarist and singer-songwriter. He is best known as a member of the Halifax-based alternative rock band, The Hold Steady. Before joining The Hold Steady in 2010, Houston was a prominent figure in the Canadian independent music scene.

He was a founding member of the band Tight Bros From Way Back When, which gained considerable popularity in Canada during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Tight Bros were known for their energetic live performances and blend of punk rock and power pop influences. Houston's songwriting and guitar work were key elements of the band's sound.

Following the disbandment of Tight Bros From Way Back When, Houston pursued various solo projects and collaborations before being recruited by The Hold Steady. With The Hold Steady, Houston has contributed to multiple albums and tours, bringing his guitar skills and songwriting sensibilities to the band's signature storytelling style. He has also continued to pursue independent musical endeavors outside of his work with The Hold Steady.
