HD 219828

HD 219828 is a G-type main-sequence star located approximately 246 light-years away in the constellation Tucana. It is slightly larger and more massive than the Sun, with an estimated mass of around 1.11 solar masses and a radius of about 1.25 solar radii. Its effective temperature is similar to the Sun's, around 5700 K.

The star is notable for hosting two confirmed exoplanets, HD 219828 b and HD 219828 c, discovered through the radial velocity method. These planets are both gas giants, considerably larger than Earth.

HD 219828 b, the inner planet, has a minimum mass of approximately 0.07 Jupiter masses and orbits its star with a period of about 3.8 days. HD 219828 c, the outer planet, has a minimum mass of about 0.25 Jupiter masses and an orbital period of around 117 days.

The discovery of these exoplanets contributes to our understanding of planetary system formation and the diversity of planets that exist beyond our solar system. Further observations and analysis of the HD 219828 system may reveal more about the planets' atmospheric composition and orbital characteristics.
