George Hull (Massachusetts politician)
George Hull (1793 – 1868) was an American politician from Massachusetts. He served as the 14th Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts from 1836 to 1843.
Hull was born in Lanesborough, Massachusetts. He was a lawyer by profession and practiced law in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. He entered politics as a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, serving several terms. He then served in the Massachusetts State Senate.
In 1836, Hull was elected Lieutenant Governor on the ticket with Governor Edward Everett. He served in this role for seven years, under both Everett and Governor John Davis. During his tenure as Lieutenant Governor, he also served as acting Governor on several occasions when the Governor was out of state.
Hull was a member of the Whig Party. Following his time as Lieutenant Governor, he returned to his law practice in Stockbridge. He died in 1868 and is buried in Stockbridge Cemetery.
