Chanchaga is a Local Government Area (LGA) located in Niger State, Nigeria. It is one of the twenty-five LGAs that comprise the state. The administrative headquarters of Chanchaga LGA is located in Minna, the capital city of Niger State.

The LGA is situated in the central part of Niger State and is primarily populated by the Gwari (also known as Nupe) people, although other ethnic groups are also present. The economy of Chanchaga LGA is largely based on agriculture, with farming being a major occupation for the residents. Common crops grown in the area include grains, tubers, and vegetables. Trading and small-scale businesses also contribute to the local economy.

Chanchaga LGA plays a significant role in the political and administrative affairs of Niger State, given its proximity to the state capital. It also houses various government institutions and parastatals. The LGA is governed by a chairman who is elected by the residents. The chairman is responsible for overseeing the administration of the LGA and implementing policies aimed at improving the lives of the people.

Chanchaga LGA faces challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, limited access to healthcare and education, and unemployment. Efforts are being made by the local government and other stakeholders to address these challenges and promote sustainable development in the area.
