Nepa (river)
The Nepa is a river in Siberia, Russia. It is a right tributary of the Angara River. The Nepa flows through Irkutsk Oblast.
The river is approximately 683 kilometers (424 miles) long, and its drainage basin covers an area of 19,800 square kilometers (7,600 sq mi). The Nepa's source is located in the Angara Ridge. It flows generally southwest through a taiga landscape characterized by coniferous forests. The river is primarily fed by snowmelt and rainfall.
The Nepa is navigable in its lower reaches. The region surrounding the river is sparsely populated, with the local economy based mainly on forestry and trapping. The river is known for its pristine natural environment.
