John Pearson (artist)
John Pearson (born 1942, died 2017) was a British artist known for his minimalist, abstract sculptures and paintings, often incorporating geometric forms and industrial materials. He studied at the Royal College of Art in London during the 1960s. Pearson's work explored themes of space, volume, and the interplay of light and shadow. He exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, and his pieces are held in numerous public and private collections. His later work incorporated more colour, but retained the reductive, architectural qualities of his earlier constructions. A significant part of his practice involved site-specific installations, responding directly to the architectural context in which they were placed. He is often associated with the British Constructivist movement.
