Kalvitsa
Kalvitsa is a small village located in the Kondopoga district of the Republic of Karelia, Russia. Situated on the shore of Lake Sandal, it is primarily known for its proximity to the Kivach Nature Reserve, a protected area established to preserve the surrounding forest and the Kivach Waterfall, one of the largest waterfalls in European Russia. The village itself is small, with a population consisting mainly of people employed in forestry, tourism related to the nature reserve, or retired individuals. Infrastructure is limited, and the economy is largely dependent on the region's natural resources and the flow of tourists visiting the waterfall and surrounding areas.
