Christopher Hussey (died 1686)
Christopher Hussey (died 1686) was an early settler in the Province of New Hampshire, a prominent landowner, and a member of the colonial government. He was the son of Rev. Stephen Bachiler and his first wife, who remains historically unidentified by name. Hussey immigrated to New England along with his grandfather, Bachiler, and his sister, Theodate Hussey, around 1632.
Hussey was involved in the early settlements of Newbury, Massachusetts, and Hampton, New Hampshire. He served as a magistrate and was frequently chosen as a representative to the General Court of Massachusetts, demonstrating his standing within the colonial community. He acquired considerable land holdings in Hampton and surrounding areas.
He married Theodate Batchelder (his niece) and they had several children, establishing a significant family lineage in New England. His will, dated 1686, provides valuable insight into the distribution of his substantial property and his family relationships.
