James Flynn (politician)

James Flynn (born c. 1949) is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin South constituency from 1987 to 2011.

Flynn was first elected to Dáil Éireann at the 1987 general election. He served as a Minister of State at the Department of the Environment from 1989 to 1992, with responsibility for housing and urban renewal. He then served as Minister of State at the Department of Social Welfare from 1992 to 1993. He remained a backbench TD from 1993 until his retirement.

Flynn was a prominent member of Fianna Fáil for several decades and played a key role in local and national politics within the Dublin South area. His tenure saw significant developments in housing and social welfare policies during his ministerial roles. He did not contest the 2011 general election.
