Fred Burns (actor)
Fred Burns (1878 – 1955) was an American actor. Born in Fort Keogh, Montana, he primarily worked as a character actor in Western films. His career spanned from the silent era through the 1950s, with appearances in hundreds of films, often uncredited. He was known for playing roles such as bartenders, ranchers, sheriffs, and cowboys. Although rarely a leading man, Burns was a prolific and recognizable presence in the Western genre. He appeared in films alongside notable actors such as John Wayne, Gene Autry, and Roy Rogers. His final credited role was in the 1954 film Jesse James' Women.
