Frank Hodsoll
Frank Hodsoll (born November 5, 1932) is an American public servant who served as Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) from 1981 to 1989 during the Reagan administration. His tenure was marked by increased scrutiny of NEA funding, particularly concerning controversial art projects that sparked public debate and Congressional inquiries. Prior to his appointment as NEA Chairman, Hodsoll held various positions in the federal government, including Deputy to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). He is a graduate of Yale University and the University of Virginia School of Law. Following his time at the NEA, Hodsoll continued to work in public service and consulting, specializing in management and government reform.
