Jirō Kinjō
Jirō Kinjō (金城 譲, Kinjō Jirō) was an Okinawan politician and businessman. He is best known for his efforts in the reversion movement, advocating for Okinawa's return to Japanese administration after its post-World War II occupation by the United States. Kinjō held various political positions in Okinawa, often working to bridge the gap between the Okinawan people and the occupying American authorities. He played a significant role in negotiating for improved local governance and advocating for Okinawan interests. His efforts contributed to the eventual reversion of Okinawa to Japan in 1972. Later in his life, he pursued business interests and remained a respected figure in Okinawan society.
