Break Even (band)

Break Even was an Australian hardcore punk band formed in Melbourne, Victoria in 2005. The band was known for its emotionally charged lyrics, melodic hardcore sound, and energetic live performances. Break Even toured extensively both domestically and internationally, building a dedicated fanbase within the hardcore scene.

The band consisted of vocalist Mark "Mikki" Barela, guitarists Adrian Calgano and Jamie Townsend, bassist Chris Milton, and drummer Matt Thorogood (later replaced by Daniel "Noodles" Del Romano).

Break Even released several EPs and two full-length studio albums: The End All Be All (2007) and Young and Restless (2011). The band's music often explored themes of love, loss, regret, and personal struggles.

Break Even announced their disbandment in 2011, citing personal reasons and the desire to pursue other projects. Despite their relatively short lifespan, Break Even left a lasting impact on the Australian hardcore scene and are remembered for their passionate music and heartfelt performances.
