Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Uganda)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uganda is the government ministry responsible for the formulation and implementation of Uganda's foreign policy and the management of its international relations. Its primary objective is to promote and protect Uganda's national interests abroad, maintain diplomatic relations with other countries and international organizations, and contribute to regional and global peace and security.

The Ministry's functions include representing Uganda in international forums, negotiating treaties and agreements, promoting trade and investment, providing consular services to Ugandan citizens abroad, and coordinating Uganda's participation in international development cooperation. It also plays a crucial role in managing Uganda's relations with neighboring countries and regional organizations such as the East African Community (EAC) and the African Union (AU).

The Ministry is headed by a cabinet minister, who is appointed by the President of Uganda. The administrative head of the Ministry is the Permanent Secretary, who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Ministry and the implementation of its policies. The Ministry operates through a network of Ugandan embassies, high commissions, and consulates located around the world. Its headquarters are located in Kampala, Uganda.
