Thomas Marshall (Canadian politician)
Thomas Marshall (born circa 1830, died May 24, 1900) was a Canadian politician who served as a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.
Marshall represented Durham East from 1879 to 1894 as a member of the Liberal Party. He was born in Ireland and emigrated to Canada West (later Ontario) in his youth. Before entering provincial politics, he was a farmer and active in municipal government. He served as a councillor and reeve for the Township of Cartwright, in Durham County.
During his time in the Legislative Assembly, Marshall was a staunch advocate for agricultural interests and rural development. He was known for his contributions to debates on issues such as land reform, transportation infrastructure, and education. He did not seek re-election in the 1894 provincial election. He died at his home in Cartwright Township.
