Martin Larsson (guitarist)

Martin Larsson is a Swedish guitarist best known for his work in the melodic death metal band, At the Gates. He joined At the Gates in 1990 and remained with the band until their initial breakup in 1996. He rejoined the band for their reunion shows and has been a permanent member since their full-time reformation in 2007.

Larsson's guitar playing is characterized by its melodic leads, intricate harmonies, and aggressive riffing, which are integral to At the Gates' signature sound. He is a key figure in the Gothenburg metal scene and is regarded as an influential guitarist within the melodic death metal genre. He has contributed to all of At the Gates' studio albums, including the seminal Slaughter of the Soul (1995) and their more recent releases, At War with Reality (2014), To Drink from the Night Itself (2018), and The Nightmare of Being (2021).

Beyond At the Gates, Larsson has also been involved in other musical projects, although his contributions to these projects are less widely documented. He remains primarily focused on his work with At the Gates.
