Ronon Dex

Ronon Dex is a fictional character in the science fiction television series Stargate Atlantis. He is a Satedan warrior and former Runner who joins the Atlantis expedition as a weapons specialist and military officer.

Character Background:

Ronon was once a member of the Satedan military and lived on the technologically advanced planet of Sateda in the Pegasus galaxy. Sateda was destroyed by the Wraith, a powerful enemy that feeds on humans. Ronon was one of the few survivors, but he was subsequently turned into a Runner – a human hunted by the Wraith for sport. He was implanted with a tracking device that allowed the Wraith to constantly pursue him.

After seven years of running, Ronon encountered the Atlantis team, led by Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard. Sheppard's team removed the Wraith tracking device, freeing Ronon from his life as a Runner. He subsequently joined the Atlantis expedition, seeking to avenge the loss of his people and fight the Wraith.
