Ruth Fry

Ruth Fry (1878 – 1962) was a British Quaker relief worker and peace activist. She dedicated much of her life to humanitarian work, particularly in the aftermath of both World Wars. Fry was deeply involved with the Friends War Victims Relief Committee, later known as Friends Relief Service, and played a significant role in organizing and distributing aid to war-torn regions of Europe. Her work included providing food, clothing, and medical supplies, as well as assisting refugees and displaced persons. She also advocated for peace and reconciliation, promoting understanding and cooperation between nations. Her commitment to Quaker principles of non-violence and social justice shaped her life and work, leaving a lasting impact on international relief efforts.
