The Heart Throbs (band)

The Heart Throbs were a British indie pop band formed in 1986 in Redditch, Worcestershire. The band was fronted by Rosemarie Taylor (vocals) and Stephen Ward (guitar).

History:

The Heart Throbs initially formed as a duo, Taylor and Ward, before expanding to include other members. Their sound was characterized by jangling guitars, melodic vocals, and lyrics often exploring themes of love and relationships, fitting within the indie pop scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s.

They signed to One Little Indian Records and released a series of singles, achieving moderate success on the UK independent charts. Their debut album, Cleopatra Grip, was released in 1990. While critically well-received for its catchy songwriting and polished production, it did not achieve major mainstream commercial success.

The band toured extensively in the UK and Europe, supporting acts such as James. Despite a dedicated fanbase, the band struggled to break through to a wider audience.

Following Cleopatra Grip, the band recorded a second album, which remains unreleased. The Heart Throbs disbanded in the early 1990s.
