Keith Slater (bishop)

Keith Slater is an Anglican bishop in the Church of England. He is currently the Bishop of Richborough, a suffragan bishop who ministers as a provincial episcopal visitor in the Province of Canterbury to those parishes who, on grounds of theological conviction, are unable to receive the ministry of bishops who have been ordained to the priesthood having been women.

Slater was educated at the University of Wales, Lampeter and Westcott House, Cambridge. He was ordained deacon in 1989 and priest in 1990. He served his curacy at St Mary Magdalene, Oxford before holding incumbencies in Aylesbury and Princes Risborough. Before his consecration as Bishop of Richborough, he was Vicar of St Mary the Virgin, Iffley, Oxford.

He was consecrated as Bishop of Richborough on July 25, 2018, at Canterbury Cathedral. As Bishop of Richborough, he travels extensively throughout the Province of Canterbury, providing pastoral care, episcopal oversight, and sacramental ministry to parishes requesting his services. He is a traditionalist within the Church of England, representing a continuing strand of Anglo-Catholic theology and practice.
