Mount Asahi (Yamagata)

Mount Asahi (朝日岳, Asahi-dake) is a mountain located in the Asahi Mountain Range in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. It is not to be confused with Mount Asahi in Hokkaido, which is the tallest mountain in that prefecture. The Yamagata Mount Asahi is known for its rugged terrain, challenging hiking trails, and alpine flora.

It is one of the prominent peaks within the Bandai-Asahi National Park, offering scenic views and attracting hikers and mountaineers, particularly during the summer and autumn months. The mountain is characterized by steep slopes, rocky outcrops, and patches of snow that can persist well into the summer months.
