Calceby
Calceby is a small village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated approximately 6 miles (10 km) north-east from Alford and 6 miles (10 km) south-east from Louth.
The parish church, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, is a Grade II listed building. Historically, Calceby was part of the Calceworth Wapentake. The population is small, characteristic of many rural Lincolnshire parishes.
Records of Calceby date back to the Domesday Book of 1086, indicating a settlement of significant age. The name "Calceby" is believed to be of Old Scandinavian origin, possibly referring to a farm or settlement associated with a person named Kalki or similar.
