Bude (electoral division)
Bude is an electoral division of Cornwall in the United Kingdom. It returns one member to sit on Cornwall Council. The current division covers the town of Bude-Stratton and surrounding rural areas.
The division falls within the parliamentary constituency of North Cornwall. Historically, the boundaries of the Bude electoral division have been subject to change following local government boundary reviews. These reviews aim to ensure fair representation and account for population shifts. The division is generally represented by a councillor who champions the interests of the local community on issues such as planning, infrastructure, and local services. Elections are typically held every four years, although by-elections can occur if a councillor resigns or is otherwise unable to continue their term. The composition of Cornwall Council, and therefore the political representation within the Bude division, can fluctuate depending on wider political trends and local issues. The role of the councillor is to represent the views of residents and to hold the council accountable for its actions.
