Tony Paige (American football)
Tony Paige (born August 16, 1962) is a former professional American football player. He played primarily as a fullback in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons.
Paige was drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 1984 NFL Draft out of the University of Nebraska. He played for the Jets from 1984 to 1988. After his time with the Jets, Paige played for the Washington Redskins from 1989 to 1992, where he was part of the Super Bowl XXVI-winning team.
Throughout his career, Paige was known for his blocking ability and his contributions on special teams. He was a reliable player who helped pave the way for running backs and protected quarterbacks. While he didn't accumulate large rushing or receiving statistics, his role as a blocker and special teams contributor was valued by his teams.
