Tosca (band)

Tosca is an Austrian electronic music duo consisting of Richard Dorfmeister and Rupert Huber. They are known for their downtempo, dub, and trip-hop influenced sound, often incorporating elements of jazz and ambient music.

Tosca formed in Vienna, Austria, in 1994. Dorfmeister, who had previously worked with Peter Kruder as Kruder & Dorfmeister, joined forces with Huber to explore a different sonic territory, focusing on smoother, more melodic compositions.

Their debut album, Opera, was released in 1997 and helped establish their signature sound. Subsequent albums such as Suzuki (2000), Dehli9 (2003), J.A.C. (2005), No More Days (2007), Odeon (2013), and Going, Going, Gone (2017) have continued to refine and expand upon their unique blend of electronic styles.

Tosca's music is frequently used in films, television shows, and commercials. They have toured extensively, performing live DJ sets and live performances incorporating instrumentalists and vocalists. Their work has been influential in the development of the downtempo genre.
