Beauly Firth
The Beauly Firth is a firth on the east coast of Scotland, extending southwest from Inverness into the Scottish Highlands. It is the outlet for the River Beauly and the River Ness, and is a relatively shallow body of water. The Firth is bounded to the north by the Black Isle and to the south by the Inverness-shire mainland.
The Beauly Firth is noted for its scenic beauty, its population of bottlenose dolphins, and its importance as a migratory route for various bird species. It is a popular destination for birdwatching, sailing, and other outdoor recreational activities.
Historically, the Beauly Firth was important for fishing and as a transportation route. The town of Beauly, located at the head of the Firth, was an important centre for trade. The Firth is now important for aquaculture, with several salmon farms located in its waters. It also plays a role in tourism.
