Basehart

Basehart was the surname of an American actor named Richard Basehart (1914-1984). He was a prolific performer on stage, in film, and on television.

Basehart is best known for his role as Admiral Harriman Nelson in the science fiction television series Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1964-1968). He also appeared in numerous films, including He Walked by Night (1948), Fourteen Hours (1951), Titanic (1953), Moby Dick (1956), La Strada (1954), directed by Federico Fellini, and Being There (1979).

Beyond acting, Basehart narrated several documentaries and educational films. He was married four times, including to actress Valentina Cortese.
