Brothers of the Road (album)
Brothers of the Road is the twelfth studio album by American southern rock band The Allman Brothers Band, released in 1981. It represented a stylistic shift for the band, incorporating more commercially accessible rock sounds and elements of pop music. The album marked a deliberate attempt to modernize their sound and reach a wider audience. While it contains some of the band's signature blues-rock touches, the inclusion of synthesizers and a more polished production aesthetic distinguished it from their earlier work. The title track, "Brothers of the Road," became a minor hit single. Despite some commercial success, the album is often considered a departure from the band's classic sound by some fans and critics. The lineup for this album included Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Butch Trucks, Jaimoe, Dan Toler, and David Goldflies. It was the last album to feature all of these members together.
