Frank Dux

Frank Dux (born April 6, 1956) is a Canadian-American martial artist, fight choreographer, and author. He is best known for claiming to have won a secret, no-holds-barred martial arts tournament called the Kumite in 1975. Dux's claims are highly controversial and have been widely disputed by martial arts experts, journalists, and other figures associated with his life.

Dux's story gained significant public attention through the 1988 film Bloodsport, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, which was based on Dux's accounts of his alleged experiences. Bloodsport became a cult classic and further solidified Dux's reputation, although the film's accuracy has been heavily questioned.

Dux authored the book The Secret Man: An American Warrior's Uncensored Story, which details his training and purported experiences in the Kumite. He has also worked as a fight choreographer on several films.

Critics have pointed to inconsistencies in Dux's accounts, including discrepancies in dates, locations, and details of the alleged Kumite. Investigations have revealed that some of Dux's claimed mentors and affiliations cannot be verified. Official records and witness accounts often contradict his narratives. Despite the controversy, Dux maintains the veracity of his claims. His story continues to be debated and analyzed within the martial arts community and popular culture.
