Baha Men

The Baha Men are a Bahamian junkanoo band formed in Nassau, Bahamas, in 1980. While initially focused on traditional Bahamian music, they achieved international fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s with their pop-infused junkanoo style, particularly their hit single "Who Let the Dogs Out?".

The band's lineup has evolved over the years, but key members have included Isaiah Taylor, Dyson Knight, Rik Carey, and Anthony "Monks" Flowers. Their music blends elements of junkanoo, a traditional Bahamian street parade music form characterized by its rhythmic drumming, cowbells, and whistles, with contemporary pop and dance influences.

Prior to their global success, the Baha Men were well-established in the Caribbean music scene. They toured extensively and released several albums showcasing their traditional junkanoo sound.

"Who Let the Dogs Out?", released in 2000, became a worldwide phenomenon, reaching top positions on music charts in numerous countries. The song's catchy chorus and simple lyrics, combined with its energetic rhythm, made it a popular choice for sporting events and parties. The success of the single significantly raised the band's profile and led to appearances in films, television shows, and commercials.
