Zhou Yang (speed skater)
Zhou Yang (born June 9, 1991, in Jilin, China) is a retired Chinese short track speed skater. She is one of the most decorated short track speed skaters in Olympic history, having won three Olympic gold medals.
Zhou first gained international recognition at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, where she won gold medals in both the 1500m and the 3000m relay. She became the first Chinese athlete to win two gold medals at a single Winter Olympics.
At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Zhou defended her title in the 1500m, winning her third Olympic gold medal. She also contributed to the Chinese team's silver medal in the 3000m relay.
Throughout her career, Zhou also achieved success at the World Championships, winning multiple gold medals in individual and relay events. She was known for her powerful skating style and tactical awareness.
Zhou announced her retirement from competitive skating in 2018.
