William Baker (printer)
William Baker was an English printer active in the early 18th century. He is best known for printing works for prominent figures of the period, including Richard Bentley and other classical scholars. He operated a printing house in London. Baker’s work is generally considered to be of high quality, characterized by careful typography and attention to detail. While not much is known about his personal life, his imprint appears on numerous books and pamphlets published during his career, providing evidence of his activities within the London printing trade. He was succeeded in the printing business by his son, John Baker.
