Kingmaker (band)

Kingmaker were an English indie rock band formed in Hull in 1991. The band consisted of Loz Hardy (vocals, guitar), Karl Leatham (guitar), Myles Howell (bass), and John Andrew (drums).

Kingmaker are best known for their catchy, melodic songs and Hardy's distinctive vocal style. They achieved moderate commercial success in the UK during the early to mid-1990s, particularly with their singles "Really Good Time", "Eat Yourself Whole", and "Ten Years Asleep".

The band released three studio albums: Eat Yourself Whole (1993), Sleepwalking (1995), and In The Best Possible Taste (1997). Eat Yourself Whole is considered by many fans and critics to be their strongest and most influential work.

Kingmaker toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe, supporting bands such as Radiohead and The Wonder Stuff. They gained a reputation for energetic and engaging live performances.

The band split up in 1997, citing creative differences. Since their breakup, there have been occasional rumours of a possible reunion, but these have never materialized. Members have pursued various other musical projects.
