Rzęsin
Rzęsin is a Polish geographical term referring to a type of sandy, often hummocky, terrain that is frequently found near river valleys or bodies of water. It is characterized by the accumulation of fine sand, typically deposited by wind or water action. Rzęsin landscapes can be relatively infertile due to the poor water retention of the sandy soil. They are often covered by sparse vegetation, such as grasses, sedges, and some drought-resistant shrubs. The term is most commonly used in Poland and specifically refers to landforms with these specific characteristics within the Polish geographical context. The formation of rzęsin areas is often associated with post-glacial processes or ongoing fluvial and aeolian activity.
