Mthuli

Mthuli Ncube is a Zimbabwean politician and economist currently serving as the Minister of Finance and Economic Development in the Cabinet of Zimbabwe. He was appointed to the position in September 2018.

Prior to his political career, Ncube held various positions in the academic and financial sectors. He served as the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce Law and Management at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. He also held roles at Barclays Capital as Head of Quantitative Analytics for Africa and later as Chief Strategist. Furthermore, he worked at the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.

Ncube's tenure as Minister of Finance has been marked by attempts to stabilize the Zimbabwean economy, including currency reforms and fiscal austerity measures. These policies have been met with mixed reactions, with some praising them for addressing macroeconomic imbalances, while others have criticized them for their impact on ordinary citizens.
