Snaps (candy)

Snaps, also known as Necco Snaps, are a brand of sugar-based wafers produced by the New England Confectionery Company (Necco) until its acquisition by Spangler Candy Company in 2018. Spangler Candy Company resumed production of Necco Wafers, but initially discontinued Necco Snaps.

Snaps are similar to Necco Wafers but are flavored with various spices such as cinnamon, clove, and wintergreen, in addition to other flavorings. The wafers are typically thin, circular, and come in a roll. They are known for their distinctive chalky texture and layered, somewhat dry consistency.

The flavors traditionally included in a roll of Snaps were cinnamon, clove, wintergreen, licorice, chocolate, and ginger. However, flavor assortments may have varied over time.

Snaps have a long history, dating back to the 19th century, and were considered a classic American candy.
