Max Hodge

Max Hodge (1916-2001) was an American television writer best known for his work on the 1960s Batman television series. He is credited with creating the character of Mr. Freeze (originally known as Mr. Zero in Hodge's initial script for the episode "Instant Freeze") for the show's first season. Hodge wrote three episodes of Batman: "Instant Freeze," "Rats Like Cheese," and "Penguin Is a Girl's Best Friend." Before Batman, Hodge wrote for other television series, including The Adventures of Superman, Perry Mason, and Hawaiian Eye. His writing career also included work in radio and theater.
