ISO 6943

ISO 6943 is an international standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It specifies requirements for the thermal transmittance of radiant heat protection clothing and equipment. This standard defines methods for testing the performance of materials and ensembles designed to protect individuals from exposure to radiant heat sources, such as those found in industrial settings involving molten metals or high-temperature processes. The standard assesses the ability of the protective material to resist the transmission of heat when exposed to a radiant heat source, providing a measure of its effectiveness in shielding the wearer from thermal hazards. The results obtained using the methods outlined in ISO 6943 are used to classify and compare the performance of different radiant heat protective materials.
