Simon Nye

Simon Nye (born 10 June 1958) is a British television comedy writer. He is best known for creating the sitcom Men Behaving Badly, which starred Martin Clunes and Neil Morrissey.

Nye studied English Literature at Cambridge University. He began his writing career in radio comedy before moving to television.

Besides Men Behaving Badly, Nye has written extensively for television, creating and writing shows such as Is It Legal?, Hardware, Beaver Falls, Reggie Perrin (a remake of The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin), and The Durrells (based on Gerald Durrell's autobiographical books). He also adapted David Walliams' books Ratburger, Awful Auntie, Grandpa's Great Escape, and Billionaire Boy for television.

His work is characterized by its observational humour and often explores themes of male friendship and dysfunctional family relationships. He has received numerous awards and nominations for his writing, including British Comedy Awards and BAFTA nominations.
