Bob Pepper (baseball)

Bob Pepper (born May 14, 1944) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers (1967-1970), Houston Astros (1971-1972), and San Diego Padres (1972).

Pepper was primarily a relief pitcher. He was drafted by the Tigers in the 3rd round of the 1966 MLB January Draft. His best season was arguably 1968, when he appeared in 38 games for the World Series-winning Tigers, posting a 2.66 ERA. He was known for his sinker. After his major league career, Pepper continued to be involved in baseball in various coaching and scouting roles.
