Gusinje

Gusinje is a town in northeastern Montenegro. It is the administrative center of Gusinje Municipality. The town is located in the upper Ropojana Valley, at an altitude of about 1,000 meters (3,300 feet).

Historically, Gusinje and the surrounding region have been contested between various powers, including the Ottoman Empire, the Principality of Montenegro, and Albania. The area has a diverse population, with significant Bosniak, Albanian, and Montenegrin communities.

The local economy is primarily based on agriculture, livestock farming, and tourism. The surrounding mountains and valleys offer opportunities for hiking, skiing, and other outdoor activities.
