Heartbeat (Bad Boys Blue album)
Heartbeat is the tenth studio album by German Eurodance group Bad Boys Blue, released in 1995 by Intercord. This album marked a significant stylistic shift for the group, moving away from their traditional Eurodisco sound towards a more diverse pop and R&B influenced style.
The album features 11 tracks, with "Hold You in My Arms" and "Anywhere" being released as singles. "Hold You in My Arms" achieved some success, particularly in European markets. The album itself didn't reach the same commercial heights as their earlier work.
This was also the second album to feature lead vocals by John McInerney and the first album featuring the new member, Roberto Allen, who replaced Trevor Taylor in the lineup. While Allen contributed background vocals, McInerney remained the primary vocalist.
"Heartbeat" represents a transition period for Bad Boys Blue as they attempted to modernize their sound and adapt to the changing musical landscape of the mid-1990s. The critical reception to the album was mixed, with some appreciating the attempt at reinvention while others missed the group's classic Eurodisco style.
