Dowland (crater)

Dowland is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the northeast of the huge walled plain Hertzsprung, and southwest of the crater Bhabha.

The rim of Dowland is somewhat eroded, with small impacts along the edge, particularly in the northern and southern portions. The interior floor is relatively level, with a few minor craterlets. A notable feature is a small, bowl-shaped crater that is attached to the inner wall of the eastern rim.
