Kangnam (singer)

Kangnam (born Yasuo Namekawa, on March 23, 1987), is a Japanese-Korean singer and television personality. He debuted in 2011 as a member of the South Korean hip-hop group M.I.B (Most Incredible Busters), under Jungle Entertainment. Following the group's disbandment in 2017, Kangnam continued his career as a solo artist and television personality in South Korea.

Known for his outgoing personality and fluency in both Japanese and Korean, Kangnam has appeared in numerous variety shows, including "I Live Alone," "Law of the Jungle," and "School Attack 2018." He gained significant popularity for his appearances on these programs, becoming a recognized figure in the South Korean entertainment industry.

As a solo artist, Kangnam has released several singles and collaborated with other artists. While his music career continues, his work in television has remained a significant part of his public image.

In 2019, Kangnam married South Korean Olympic speed skater Lee Sang-hwa. In February 2019, he announced he was in the process of becoming a naturalized Korean citizen, which he completed in 2022.
