Euroseeds

Euroseeds, formerly known as the European Seed Association (ESA), is an organization representing the European seed industry. It represents breeders, producers, processors, and distributors of seeds in Europe.

Euroseeds' primary objectives include:

• Advocating for the interests of the seed industry at the European Union level and internationally.
• Promoting innovation and research in plant breeding.
• Ensuring the availability of high-quality seeds to farmers and growers.
• Developing and promoting standards for seed quality and phytosanitary requirements.
• Providing a platform for communication and collaboration within the seed industry.
• Facilitating trade in seeds both within and outside of Europe.

Euroseeds works closely with the European Commission, national governments, and other stakeholders to shape policies related to seed regulations, intellectual property rights, plant health, and trade. It is an influential voice in the ongoing debates surrounding plant breeding innovation, including new breeding techniques and their impact on the European seed sector. The organization also provides training and educational resources to its members and the wider public on topics related to seed production, seed technology, and seed legislation. Euroseeds holds annual congresses and meetings that bring together seed industry professionals from across Europe and around the world.
